Rosen Inn Pointe Orlando Review

The Rosen Inn at Pointe forms part a chain of Rosen hotels in the Orlando area. This can get confusing if you’re booking a holiday and it states ‘The Rosen Inn’. It’s important to get clarity on which you will be staying in.

The 4 Rosen Inn hotels in Orlando are; Rosen Inn (Near Universal), Rosen Inn International, Rosen Inn Pointe & Rosen Centre. The Pointe is somewhere in the middle of the 4 hotels. This Rosen Inn Pointe Orlando review will tell you everything you need to know.

Where is Rosen Inn Pointe Located?

The location of the hotel is one of its biggest selling points. In the centre of International Drive, you couldn’t be in a better place. International Drive (I-Drive to the regulars) is 11 miles long and is ‘The Strip’ in Orlando.

The Rosen Inn Pointe is opposite Pointe Orlando, a shopping and entertainment area. You will find bars, restaurants and an impressive cinema on your doorstep. Also situated right across the road is WonderWorks Orlando, the iconic upside-down house.

You’re never far away from anything when staying on I-Drive, which is why it’s such a popular choice.

How Close is Rosen Inn Pointe to the Theme Parks?

The Rosen Inn Pointe is only 4 miles from Universal Studios and Island of Adventure, situated at the end of I-Drive. A short cab ride or drive away (we would always recommend driving in Florida – here’s why). There are other Rosen Inn options closer to Universal, but Pointe is usually cheaper.

At the other end of I-Drive is Sea World, Aquatica and Discovery Cove. These parks are only 2 miles away in the other direction, which makes Rosen Inn Pointe a great location if you plan on visiting.

Disneyworld and all its glory are 6.5 miles from The Rosen Inn Pointe, so it’s far from being an onsite hotel. If you are going to be spending all your time at Disney, it would be easier to stay closer by. That said, if you want to be within a reasonable distance to the parks but have plenty of other options around you, Rosen Inn Pointe could be the answer.

Busch Gardens is in Tampa and so no Orlando hotel is exactly close by. The distance between Rosen Inn Pointe and Tampa, compared to any other Orlando hotel, is negligible. Be sure to plan a whole day for your trip to Busch Gardens if travelling from Orlando.

What Are the Rooms like?

Think 1980s American motel and you’ve pretty much nailed the design of the Rosen Inn Pointe rooms. They are quite dark and dated and could do with some improvement.

That said, you’ve got to consider the price, and we will discuss that further in the review. If you’re looking for bright and modern, the Rosen Hotels aren’t for you. If you’re looking for affordable, value for money and place to sleep, then it is.

Standard rooms come with 2 double beds, a bathroom, and a kitchenette. There are tea and coffee making facilities as well as the usual bits and pieces like soaps and shampoos. There is a TV with plenty of American channels to watch. All in all, it makes a great base after a long day at the parks.

Despite the questionable decor, there are no issues with cleanliness. Housekeeping visit often, and the rooms are clean and spacious. No, you won’t get blown away when you walk into your Rosen Inn Pointe room, but you’ll feel great about your location and what you spent.

How Much Does The Rosen Inn Pointe Cost?

The pleasant thing about the Rosen Inn Pointe is that there are no resort fees. Hotels in Orlando charge these fees in addition to the room rate. If you have booked a package holiday, they are normally always included in your price.

A standard double costs approximately $120 per night per room in high-season. These are direct prices, and there’s usually bargains to be had booking elsewhere.

Holiday operators have deals with these hotels, and the Rosen Inn Pointe usually comes in at a fantastic price as part of a package. There are a lot of variables involved, but we paid £1,800 with Virgin Holidays for 2 people, flights included. This brought the true cost of the hotel in at around £800.

For its central location to almost everything, and so much within walking distance, Rosen Inn Pointe is a fantastic value for money. It’s comfortable, it’s clean and it’s within reach of the theme parks, so it gets a big thumbs up for its price.

Facilities At The Hotel

The Rosen Inn Pointe has two pools, but they are on the small side. You need to arrive early for a spot, and they fill up quick during high-season. Although not the ‘feature’ of the hotel like some of the impressive pools at high-end places, it’s great to have. A soak after a long day walking around Disney might be what you need.

Worth noting that the Rosen Inn Pointe pools can be quite shaded. This is because of the sheer number of blocks making up the hotel. There are several other handy things onsite at Rosen Inn Pointe. From convenience to entertainment, they include:

  • Mini Market & Deli
  • Restaurant- Coffee Bar
  • Lounge & Grille

The onsite lounge shows all major sports events and even has karaoke on certain nights of the week. The bar also serves a small menu of food, including burgers and steak. For a better dining experience, visit the onsite restaurant.

All this is great to have and is a very welcome addition. Do keep in mind, though, that you’re quite literally surrounded by everything you could ever need on I-Drive itself. You are within a 5-minute walk of a pharmacy, supermarket, liquor store, and more.

Final Thoughts on Rosen Inn Pointe

It’s impossible not to like the Rosen Inn Pointe, when you consider what you pay for it. It’s a budget place, and you trade in the frills for a little extra spending money, and we’re okay with that.

The hotel is a fantastic spot for a family or couple on a budget, and the location couldn’t be any better. If you want something central, close to plenty of entertainment and not too far from parks, look no further.
